Travel Insurance & Liability Waiver
Last updated: August 6, 2026
WanderLuxe Travel strongly recommends comprehensive travel protection on every booking. This page explains what we recommend, what happens if you decline, and the limits of our responsibility. Written at 456 Ocean Drive, Suite 200, Miami, FL 33139; questions to booking@wanderluxetravel.com.
1. What we recommend
- Trip cancellation and interruption cover at 100% of your non-refundable trip cost.
- Emergency medical cover and, critically, medical evacuation and repatriation.
- Baggage delay and loss, and travel delay with daily expense reimbursement.
- "Cancel for any reason" upgrades where offered — usually only available within 14–21 days of your first trip payment.
- Adventure or high-altitude riders when your itinerary includes such activities.
2. Buy early
Pre-existing medical condition waivers and cancel-for-any-reason benefits are usually only available if the policy is purchased shortly after your initial deposit. Waiting reduces what you can be covered for.
3. The insurer decides claims
WanderLuxe Travel is not an insurer and does not adjudicate claims. Coverage, exclusions, deductibles and payouts are determined solely by the insurer under the policy wording sent to you. Read that wording — pandemics, known events, foreseeable weather, intoxication, unlicensed driving, and undeclared conditions are commonly excluded. We will help you assemble documentation, but we cannot guarantee any claim outcome.
4. Declining coverage
If you decline insurance, you accept full financial responsibility for cancellation penalties, medical treatment abroad, evacuation costs (which can exceed USD 100,000), missed connections and lost baggage. We record declinations in your booking file. Proceeding with a booking after being offered coverage constitutes that acknowledgement.
5. Liability waiver
WanderLuxe Travel acts only as an agent arranging services supplied by independent third parties. We are not liable for the acts, errors, omissions, defaults, negligence, delays, mechanical failures, insolvency or misrepresentation of any airline, hotel, cruise line, ground operator, guide, driver, restaurant or activity provider. We are likewise not liable for injury, illness, death, property damage or expense arising from events beyond our reasonable control. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our aggregate liability is limited to the service fees you paid directly to WanderLuxe Travel for the affected booking.
6. Your responsibilities
- Disclose medical conditions that could affect your ability to travel.
- Carry your policy number and the insurer's 24-hour assistance line while travelling.
- Report incidents to local authorities and the insurer promptly — most policies require notice within 20–30 days.
- Keep receipts, medical reports and airline delay confirmations for any claim.
